Ms. Louise S. Hamilton, affectionately known as "Weezee" was born on November 25, 1941, in Shaw, Mississippi, to Tommy and Rosie Mae Shorter. A proud Navy veteran, Louise embodied strength, perseverance, and wisdom. She loved traveling, reading mystery novels, and watching British television programs. Her compassion extended to animals and children, and she had a remarkable ability to leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Rosie Mae Shorter; brothers, Tommy Shorter Jr., James Lee Shorter, Charles Shorter, and Carter Shorter; and sister, Leah Minnie Hooper.

Louise is survived by her children: Phillip R Hamilton (Levonia) and Tracy Hamilton; grandchildren Xavier Nelson, Christopher Hamilton, and Amira Hamilton; her brothers, Eddie and Jonathan Shorter; her sisters, Georgia Herbert (Thomas), Daisy Shorter, Myrtis Coleman, Carolyn Shorter Parker, and Linda Cross; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her best friend, Barbara Williams.

Her presence will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on March 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Saint Augustine Parish 1310 W Broadway, Louisville, KY 40203.
