Mrs. Lucille Sweet was the daughter of Levis and Pearl Walker, born in Colquitt, Georgia, on March 29, 1935. Lucille had five siblings: three sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Lucille Sweet attended school in Gadsden County, graduating from Carter-Parramore High School, she was a member of the Class of 1955. On February 3rd, 1958, Lucille wed Willie Lee Sweet; they remained joined in matrimony until his passing on March 3, 2022. Lucille and Willie Sweet were the proud and loving parents of three children: Lucinda Sweet (Deceased), Willie Sweet Jr. (Deceased), and Joseph Sweet. During her lifetime she enjoyed spending time with family and serving the Lord. Lucille also dedicated her life to serving the children of Hillsborough County Public Schools, where she worked more than two decades to help educate and shape the minds of children within her community; retiring in 2000.
Lucille Sweet accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Lucille Sweet She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa, and a devoted member of the Deaconess Board. Prior to joining First Baptist Church of West Tampa, Lucille Sweet was a devout member of Greater Morning Star M.B. Church.
Mrs. Lucille Sweet was preceded in death by her parents (Levis and Pearl Walker), her husband (Wille Sweet), her daughter; Lucinda Sweet and her son; Willie Jr.; grandson Marvin Sweet; siblings, Daisy Mae Pugh, Janella Johnson, Levis Walker Jr., and W.C. Walker. She has lovingly passed the baton on to those who remain to cherish her memory: Son, Joseph Sweet (Candi) of Jacksonville, FL.; grandchildren, Daquavius (Deja) of San Antonio, TX., Lailah; great-grand child, Daquavius Jr.; sister, Armenus McClendon of Jacksonville, FL.; Godson, Eric Williams. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, and family members.
