Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Lucinda K. Williams of 3521 E. Genesee Street who passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2009, will be held on Friday, June 29th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dr. Walter J. Willliams, pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born October 5, 1923 in Tampa, Florida to the late Jorice and Jeraline Williams. She was a member of Mt Zion M.B. Church, where she served on the Purple Lily Usher Board. She was also a member of The Eastern Star, National Council of Negro Women, B&B Society, Iota Pilates and Nurses Guild. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was affectionately called "Mother" by her family and close friends of children. She was preceded in death by her husband, English Williams; a son, Kenneth Williams, 3 sisters and 1 brother. She leaves behind to cherish the memories of her sweet soft voice, humor, wit, contagious laughter and loving ways, a devoted son, Rodney Williams and wife, Rhonda of Middletown, NY; daughter-in-law, Martha Williams; one daughter, Marian Massey and husband, Robert; 6 grandchildren, Kentarya Williams of Atlanta, GA, Rewa Chisholm, and husband, Xavier of Tampa, Rodney E. C. Williams, of Middletown, NY, LaMount Thompson, Jimmy Ricks and Tasha Ricks, all of Tampa; and a host of great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mildred Perry and husband, Jimmy, Eleanor McGuire and Lue Ellen Mosley; 1 brother, Lonnie P. Williams and wife, France all of Tampa; beloved and devoted nephew and "caretaker", Jarvis Green; 1 uncle, Jerry Adams and wife, Bennie; 2 aunts, Gussie Goff and Rosa Mae Johnson, all of Palmetto, Florida. She also leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and 4 special devoted friends, Eddye Brady, Thelma Ricks, Agnes Mackey and Frances Walker. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel at 10: 45 a.m. on Friday for the service.
