A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Lucious 'Lou' Glymph, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tampa, Florida, Elder Wilbert Fleming, Jr., officiating.
Lucious Glymph, Jr. was born on November 27, 1969to Lucious, Sr. and Bernestine Glymph in Tampa, Florida. He attended C. Leon King High School, Tampa, Florida. After graduating from high school in 1988, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy.
After his military service ended, he continued to move through life to the beat of his own drum, embarking on a colorful journey of life. Lucious, known for his charismatic charm and spontaneous zest for life, worked in the hospitality industry for numerous years. Lucious was a free spirit full of spontaneity and life. Lucious made a conscious effort to make new friends while embracing the philosophy, 'Be genuinely interested in everyone you meet and everyone you meet will be genuinely interested in you'. As a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, he was known to enjoy the season in the company of friends and family celebrating wins and dismissing losses. The authenticity of his actions and words allowed others to accept him as he is and was.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lucious Glymph, Sr.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan Johnson, Sr. and DeAundrey Glymph; grandchildren, Eden Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Jr., Avery Johnson, Abreyona Milles, Dezirae Glymph, Landon Grenon, Aundraya Glymph, Noah Boose, and Dream Glymph; mother, Bernestine Glymph; sisters, Diane Williams (Lee) and Angela Marie Glymph-McKinnon (Anthony); aunts, Kathy Flournoy, Shelia Barrett, and Christine Brown; uncles; Harvey Glymph, Bobby (Aletha) Cotton, Reginald (Linda) Cotton, Lawrence (Renee) Ludd, Romelle Brown, Robert (Gail) Brown; nephews, Vonkeli Williams, Ronj'ais Williams, Nick Anthony McKinnon II, Joshua Anthony McKinnon; cousins, Bobby Cotton Jr., Greg Cotton, Bernestine Cotton, Horace Flournoy (JaNicion), Sherrell Cotton, Kryshonna Palmer (Raymond), Rasheen Threatts (Wanda), Karanisha Threatts, Tarnisha Cotton, Tarra Cotton, Reginald Cotton, Dwayne Cotton, Jarvis (Alisha), Robert Brown Jr., Bobby Flournoy, Michael Ludd, Jerrell Ludd, Shylonda Walker (Gary), Shywanda Stanford (Tyrone), Selma Taylor; special friends, Robles College Crew, Riverview Terrace Community and other sorrowful relatives and special friends; and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 30th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday for the service.
A 'Celebration of Life' repast after the funeral ceremony will be held at Riverview Terrace Park, 2:00 p.m., 7701 N. Florida Ave. Tampa, Florida 33604. We are following the CDC guidelines.
