Homegoing celebration for Mr Mack Duffie Hector of Tampa, FL who passed away Friday. December 21st will be held Saturday December 29th at 12 pm at Mt. Zion Progressive MB church, 955 20th Street South, St. Pete, FL 33712. Interment will be in Sarasota Florida National Cemetery. Rev. Louis E. Murphy, Sr. officiating. Mr. Mack Duffie Hector, Jr. was born in Escambia County in 1950 to Mack Duffie & Willie Mae Hector. Mack attended public schools and later served in the Peace Corp. until he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served 4 years in Vietnam. He loved to cook and go fishing. Mack was very humorous and liked to tell folks tales. He was loving and compassionate. He was a good old-fashion country boy from Alabama. He believed and had faith in the Lord; sometimes he would pray until he cried. He's the father of five children and was married to Audrey E. Hector. He was preceded in death by both parents and four brothers. Mack will be missed by many, but those who will cherish his memory the most are: his loving wife, Audrey Elaine; children, Tracey and Michael Hector, and Carrie Williams; stepchildren, Stacey Sapp, Donald Rutledge, Jr., and Toni Morris; grandchildren, Tyrone Christopher, Tyaudra, Dione and Fasiah Thomas; five sisters, Annie Washington of Pensacola, FL, Fannie Nichols of Daphne, AL, Mattie Aiken of Brooklyn, NY, Lena (Chinelo) Ejimbe of Brooklyn, NY, and Willie Mae Hector of South, FL; one brother, Robert Graves, Jr. of Loxley, AL; one sister-in-law, Ethel Graves; and a host of others.The viewing will be held Friday, December 28th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
