Obituary

Mae Alice Warren Thomas was born on May 5, 1915. She was the longest survivor of the six children born to the late Isaiah and Alice Martha Warren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses R. Thomas, her son, Marion C. Carbrera, her daughter, Alice Martha Cabrera Clark, her great grandson, Marion Cedric Carrington, Jr. (CJ), her brothers, Robert and Carl Warren and her three sisters, Minnie Warren Irvin, Nellie Warren Mifflin and Jessie Warren Martin. She grew up in the South Tampa Community of Ballast Point and she attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School. She was a very loyal and active member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and she was best known for her devotion and love of her family, particularly her grandchildren. Mae Alice Thomas was an unselfish, but candid individual who possessed a sincere desire and burning passion for caring for others and for decades she was a major contributor to St. Peter Claver Catholic School in virtually all of the school's programs and activities. She was affectionately known to all as "Miss Alice" and she left an indelible impression of generosity, thoughtfulness and gentle kindness on every life she ever touched. She was an avid cook and was known for her fruit cakes and spicy tea punch. Mae Alice Thomas leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Herbert D. Carrington, Jr. (Luella) and Roland E. Carrington (Margretta); nine grandchildren, Yolanda Liggins (William), Harcourt Clark (Sadie), Jennifer Parker (David), Theron Clark, Herbert D. Carrington, III (Karen), Warren P. Carrington (Angel), Marion Cedric Carrington (Davina), Lucretia Brinson (Kenneth), and Sandra Taylor (Steven); seventeen great grandchildren, Ajani Liggins, Kiana, Kanisha and Kaniah Clark, Kayla and Theron Clark, Jr., Warren P., Jr. and Darryl Chase Carrington, Kenneth Jr. and Kamryn Brinson, Kiana and Chazre Hill, Jasmyne, Jaylen and Jordan McDuffie and Gwendolyn and Herbert D. Carrington1V; two nephews, Robert Warren (Iris) and Carl Warren (Jewel); Three grand nephews; Gerald Robert Warren (Judy), Gregory Warren (Trina) and Conrad Warren; two grand nieces Irish Theresa Edmond (Eric) and Eileen Beckham (Johnathan); her loving cousins, The Lewis and Warren Families of West Tampa and a host of great grand nephews, great grand nieces and close friends.
