Mr. Major Bernard Bloom, Jr.

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Major B. Bloom, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 will be held Saturday, March 18th, 11:00 a.m. at New Salem P.B. Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Ave., Elder Leland Johnson, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Major Bernard Bloom, Jr. was born October 8, 1938 in Byromville, Georgia. Major Bloom was a member of New Salem P.B. Church. He enjoyed dancing, barbequing and entertaining friends and family. Major Bloom was employed for 35 yearsat the Tampa Yacht Club as the Maitre D. He was preceded in death by his parents, Major Bloom, Sr. and Mattie Mae Ghantt; sisters, Eloise Grisby and Mary Alice Corbett. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving and dedicated wife, Joyce Helen Bloom; children, Major Bernard Bloom III (Eureka) and Chianti Latrecia Bloom (Derryck); grandchildren, Major Bernard Bloom IV, Myron Keyshawn Bloom, Journii Keyontae Bloom; brothers-in-law, Willie Corbett and Louis Corbett; sisters-in-law, Carrie Corbett, Patricia Corbett and Joyce Corbett; nieces, Donna, Renee, Nikki, Ashley, Luciana, Anastasia and Raylette; nephews, Baxter, Freddie, Clarence, Lawrence, Vernon, Victor, Jessie, Demetrius, Shawn and Ashawki; a host of great nieces and nephews; a host of great great-nieces, and nephews; devoted friends, Toni and Anthony Everett, Tony Everett Company, The Tampa Yacht Club, Margo (Gary) Harrod, Joel (Nancy) Silverfield, Sam (Selphina) Shields, Eddie (Josephine) Holmes, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Puller, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Tramel, Just Us Group, Eastern Star and New Creation Outreach Foundation; and a host of grieving devoted friends and family. The visitation will be held at New Salem P.B. Church on Friday, March 17th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. All donations can be made in memory of Mr. Major Bloom to The New Creation Outreach Foundation at 405 South Dale Mabry #307, Tampa, Florida 33609.
