Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Mamie "Williams" Ballard of Tampa, FL who passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 will be held Saturday, September 19th, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave, Dr. B.R. Fulton pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial park Cemetery. Ms. Mamie "Williams" Ballard was born on May 14, 1927 to the late Jimmie Williams and Mary Felton in Byromville, GA. Mamie was educated in the Dooly County, GA Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Dooly County, GA and was a faithful member of the Greater Mt. Moriah P.B. Church in Tampa, FL where she served dutifully with the Sanctuary Choir, Senior Mission and to the Sunday School Class #2 until her demise. Mamie was joined in marriage to the late David Turner, Sr. and to this union four children were conceived. She thoroughly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She owned and operated the B & B Restaurant, Montezuma, GA and also worked as a school bus driver. Later her family moved to Tampa, FL, where she delivered meals to the elderly for Meals on Wheels and served a grandparent aide for elementary students. Mamie served her family and the community through her love of cooking (especially her dressing). She was known for taking care of her family members and foster children in their time of need. She loved to sing her favorite church song "A Charge". She loved to dance and was truly the life of the party. She loved spending time with family (especially grandchildren), The Sisters Club and the Tampa Bay Red Hat Sassy Sisters. On September 11, 2015, Mamie entered into eternal rest and went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by husband, Clarence Ballard, parents: Jimmie and Mary Williams; son, Jesse L. Turner and daughter, Mary Turner Sampson. She leaves to mourn her children, sons; David Turner Jr. (Luvenia) and Charlie Turner (Deloris), grandchildren: Leroy Sampson III (Darlene), Crystel Sampson-Archer (James), Tara Turner, Jason Turner, Andrea Turner, Marcus Turner, Dreana Turner and Jesse A. Turner. Great grandchildren; Kierra, Brenton, Renard, Alecia, Ranecia, Ralph, JT, Malik, Samya, Jair, Mariana, Tiesha, Iesha, Jaliyah, Jakari, Jashaun, Omarie and King, sister in law; Sylvia Williams, godson; Walter Niles and host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends near and far whom are among the Williams, Felton, Turner, Ballard and Young Families and her Epiphany Arms Apartment Family. The visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah P.B. Church on Friday. September 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
