Homegoing services for Mrs. Mamie Lee Mitchell of Tampa, who passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, will be held Saturday, October 16th, at 10:30 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Min. Rosson D. Hamilton, officiating. "Miss Mamie", as she was so affectionately called, was born on December 4, 1917, in Arlington, Georgia, to the late Lucille and Buck Chambers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Mitchell; son, Leonard Bernard Mitchell and her parents and all siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories; two daughters, Jean Tim and Deborah Johnson (Thelmo) all of Tampa, FL; one son, Edward L. "Poochie" Mitchell (Danita) Tampa, FL; daughter-in-law, Virginia Mitchell, Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter, Sonya Mitchell, Tampa, FL; three grandsons, Leonard Mitchell, Atlanta, GA, Eric Holland (Vandelon), Tampa, FL and Rosson Hamilton (Deandra), Tampa, FL; four great-grandsons, Zackary C. Lewis, Cedrick Ingraham, Deandre Hamilton and Daniel Hamilton, all of Tampa, FL; one great-granddaughter, Ericka Ann Holland, of Tampa, FL; one great-great granddaughter, Zhariel Lewis, Tampa, FL; two nephews, Alphonso Waters (Nell) of Chicago, IL and James Waters, Jr., Tampa, FL; two nieces, Vernita Turner, Atlanta, GA and Vallis C. Waters, Tampa, FL; one godson, Charlie Bradley, Tampa, FL; one goddaughter, Delores Shoeman, Tampa, FL; caretaker, Diane McDaniels; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Friday. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday for the service.
