Homegoing Service for Ms. Mamie Vann of Tampa who passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, will be held Friday, December 11th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Rev. Dr. S. Evan Burrows, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mamie was born March 9, 1927 in Tampa, Florida and attended the local schools of Hillsborough County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of College Hill. She served faithfully on the Usher Board until retirement, Jolly Seniors Ministry, Volunteer at Abe Brown Ministry food bank and a host of other ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Geneva Vann; brothers, Lewis Vann, Jr. and Robert Vann; sisters, Pearl Vann Simmons and Louise Vann. She leaves to cherish her memory sister, Lillian McFadden; nieces, Anita Simmons of Rochester, NY; nephew, Gerald Simmons of Rochester, NY; caregiver, Kamilah Boykin; friends, Annie Pearl Wimberly, Beverly Perks and the entire body of First Baptist Church of College Hill. The visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Friday, December 11th. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Friday for the service.
