A homegoing celebration for Ms. Marcia E. Hawkins of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 will be held Saturday, September 10th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK, Jr. Blvd. Rev. James L. Gallon, officiating. Marcia Hawkins was born on August 18, 1946 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She was employed for 39 years as a teacher for Hillsborough County School Board. Marcia was a member of Saint James House of Prayer Episcopal Church, Tampa Metropolitan Alumane Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Retired and Proud Inc. Marcia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lucious and Lottie B. Jackson; mother, Catherine J. Pearson; nieces, Evanae, Lakesia and Karlany Echols. She leaves to cherish her fond memories with her son, Miguel Mitchell; brother, Phillip Pearson; sister, Sharon A. Pearson; grandsons, Michael Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell and Chris Mitchell; nephews, Ramone Echols and Pierre Pearson; great-grandson, Aidan Mitchell; other family and friends who will dearly miss her. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 9th from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
