A Memorial Service for Mr. Marcus Sutherland of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, will be held on Saturday, February 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Pastor Donald Lott, officiating. Marcus Sutherland was born on May 19, 1929 in St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies. He loved all types of music, singing, helping people, had an eye for fashion and most importantly spending quality time with his family. Marcus Sutherland came to the United States with a true entrepreneurial spirit and because of this passion; Mr. Sutherland owned and operated a coin laundromat, Yellow Cab Service, the Little Paradise Lounge and most importantly Sutherland Construction. Sutherland Construction was instrumental in affording many the opportunity of gainful employment but also an opportunity to reshape lives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vearl Sutherland; parents; James and Theresa Sutherland; and brother, Morris Sutherland. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, a loving devoted daughter and caregiver, Tonya Cole (Romeo), Joy Sutherland-Foushee, Cynthia Sutherland, Dietrick M. Sutherland, Sr., Taranika Sutherland and Eddie Gansey; grandchildren, Finesse Bellinger, Xavier Akins, Stephon Gansey (Vontague); Daunta A. Peterson, Sr., Joilica Sutherland, Die'yana N. Sutherland, Jadyn M. Sutherland, Calen Sutherland, Khalif Tyson, Taraji Tyson, McKinley D. Marcus, Jr., Dietrick M. Sutherland, Jr., Delani S. Sutherland and Marcus A. Sutherland, Jr; great-grandchildren, Edris Smith; Daunta A. Peterson, Jr., Chase A. Peterson, Jorden Gay, McKinley D. Marcus III, Si'ryiah S.
