March 12, 1928 – June 29, 2021
A homegoing celebration for Ms. Margaret Collins Cannedy of Tampa, Florida who passed away on June 29, 2021, will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 -Martin Luther King Blvd, Rev. Michael Neeley officiating. Margaret Collins Cannedy was born on March 12, 1928, in St. Petersburg, FL to the late Angus Collins and Alice Glover Collins. Margaret attended the local public schools in St. Petersburg and graduated from Gibbs High School. Her belief in God, lead her to join St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church and later Cathedral of Faith Inc.
She was employed at Padgett's Nursing Home and St. Joseph's Hospital for many years and was truly an inspiration to her co-workers. She was very family-oriented and love spending her leisure time with her family, friends, and especially her great-grandchildrenwho were the apples of her eye.
Margaret was predeceased by her son Charles Collins.
Margaret touched the lives of many people with her kindness and genuine giving heart. Her life is treasured and death is mourned by her loving and devoted children, Miralyn Neal, Benita Maynor, and Janell Grier of Tampa, Florida; her grandchildren, Adrian Sims and Tammica Neal of Tampa, FL, Monica Gambrell of Powder Springs, GA, Benita Cannedy of Atlanta, GA, Sonnita Richards and Jannita Simon of Lawrenceville, Ga, Jerome Collins of Aiken, SC, Tara Bennett and husband Andrew of Sylacauga, AL, Rafeil Collins of Erie, PA, Ashley Lockett and husband Donnelle and Buera Gamble of West Palm Beach, FL; her loving sister, Ruth C. Martin of Washington, DC; her spiritual daughters, Lorraine Agunta of Miami, FL and Sharon Small of Atlanta, GA; a host of greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
