Homegoing Services for Ms. Margaret M. McCarthan of Tampa who passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011, will be held Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m., at New Hope M.B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott, Tampa, Rev. Dr. T.W. Jenkins, Pastor; officiating. Ms. McCarthan was born on September 20, 1931, in Brunswick, Georgia. She enjoyed dancing, karaoke, spending time with family, cooking and caring for anyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Morrell and Bessie Mae Proctor Morrell; and Nathenial McCarthan, Sr. and Ruby Magnum. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, John and Sandra McIver, Harold Norris, Brenda and Ben Tolbert, Dan McCarthan, Warren McCarthan and Gwen McCarthan; grandchildren, Sandra, Regina John and Orlando McIver, Tameka and Brittany Norris, Latia and Tyana Newsome, Gerrod McCarthan, Derrick Sheffield, Jerquel and Jontea White, Javeirra Ervin and Latrail Contreas; great grandchildren, Jariyah Dor, Evyn Carolina, Darius Smith, Geana, Savanah Davis, Quran Watts, Cierra and Kierra Allen, Gerrod, Germesha and Gerriah McCarthan, Jalonni Pilcher, Destiny Smith, and Diniah Catuey; half brother, James Proctor, Alma Jean Proctor, Florence and Willie Stewart, Ana Lou and Eugene Chancy; 28 nieces; 19 nephews and 35 cousins; best friends, Ethel Goodson and Annie Mae Hird; and a host of other friends and family. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm, Friday. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.
