Mrs. Margarita Gonzalez Espinosa, affectionately known as "Maggie," was born on May 30, 1928, to Pastor Gonzalez and Dominga Gonzalez. She lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community. Margarita enjoyed reading, listening to Spanish music, traveling, taking cruises and vacations, and going for walks with her beloved companion, Sira. She also found joy in crocheting, watching television, visiting the casino, and especially spending time with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness.
She devoted 19 years of service as a teacher at Lockhart Elementary School, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of many students through her commitment and care for education. Margarita was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. She was known for her dry sense of humor, spicy wit, and strong personality, balanced by a kind and loving heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pastor Gonzalez and Dominga Gonzalez; husband, Emilio Valdes Espinosa; son, Edward "Eddie" L. Espinosa; brother, Marcello Gonzalez; sisters, Sira Alphonso, Annie Gonzalez, Bertha Gonzalez and Isabell Melendez; niece, Cindia Mesta; and nephew, Armando Ellis.
She leaves cherished memories to her sons, Renardo Espinosa and Emilio Espinosa, Jr.; daughter, Theresa Espinosa; grandchildren, Alyssa Margarita Espinosa, Gabriel Espinosa, Joseph Espinosa, Michael Espinosa, Eddie Espinosa, Monica Espinosa and Eddie Calixto; great-grandchildren, Audrianna Calixto and Alisa Espinosa; nephews, Jerry Ellis, Robert Ellis and James Innocent; and special relatives, Ruthie Ellis and Mirna Ferrer. Her warmth, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
