Mrs. Hodges was born in Havana, Cuba, and a resident of Tampa for 78 years. She was a faithful and active member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. She retired from Tropical Garment Manufacturing. She was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and enjoyed Spanish soap operas. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed cooking Cuban cuisine, sharing recipes, and teaching friends and younger family how to cook Cuban cuisine.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marquita, husband, Percy Hodges, parents Rogelio and Eduviges Gonzalvez; brothers, Rogelio Rene, and Marco Gonzalvez, and sisters, Pilar Rhaney, Margot Martinez, and Caridad North.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Albert and Michael Hodges; daughter, Myrna Hodges Hayes (Barry); grandchildren, Dana Hodges and Andrew Hayes; great-grandchildren, Antoine Parris, Jada Boykins, Deja Boykins, and Zia Bullard; as well as family and friends throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, California, Mississippi, Texas, Illinois, Puerto Rico, and Cuba; devoted friends, Margaret Woodie, Ray, and Maya Cordero, Barbara Grate, Yvette Palmer, Tina Joyer, Vanessa Brown-Bennett, and her St. Peter Claver family.
