Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Marian Jean Newton who passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 will be held Saturday, November 1st at 10:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Marian Jean Newton loved life and was on the bowling league for over 20 years. She volunteered at church and always was available to assist at the church for funeral activities for her passed away family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Jones, Sr. and Camlee Jones; son, Gerald Hugan; brothers, Willie Joseph Jones, Manuel Jones, Oscar Jones and Arthur Jones; sisters, Alice Foley and Bobbie Jean Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories with husband, James Newton; children, Tolanda Yvette Lowe, Emanuel James Jones (Missy) and Roosevelt Hugan III; grandchildren, Jermiane R. Lowe, Demontre Jones, Delonte Jones, Deonta Jones, Jalexius Jones and Emani Jones; great great grandchildren, Jordan Lowe, Jamal Lowe, Jayla Lowe and Jalissa Lowe; brother, Larry Jones (Hyacinth); aunts, Ms. Willie Lee Brown and Jurleen Jones; nieces, Paula, Cheryl, Nicole, Camlee, Toni Lester, Ebony-Jill, Debra, Harriet, Denise, Dalia; nephews, John Wright, Lee Arthur Jones, Aaron, Darius Perry Jones, Jr. and Brian; cousins, Vincent Jones, Ella Ford and family and Iola Johnson family; close friends, Tangie Mack and family, Eva and family, Jean Slaughter and family, Ms. Tee and Red, Junior, Reginald Lowe and family and Brenda Murphy and family. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday, October 31st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the funeral service.
