Homegoing Service for Ms. Marilyn M. Watkins "Ma" of Tampa who passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015, will be held on Saturday, December 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. David Jones, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Marilyn was March 2, 1951 in Tampa, Florida. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County. She attended St. John M.B. Church. Marilyn served 4 years in Job Corp, residing in Oregon, Oklahoma and Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Watkins, Sr. and Bernell McNabb Watkins; sister, Jennell Watkins; grandparents, Albert and Jessie Torrence; aunts, Connie Reese, Effie Bigham and Linnie Turner; uncle, Albert Torrence, Jr. and cousins, Evelyn Wilder and Roy Reese. She leaves to cherish her loving memories with her loving and caring fiancAC., John Burnette; loving children, Apolonia, Nidja, Jermaine and Victoria Watkins; grandchildren, Tobias, Tanisha, Regina, Jasmine and Adra Watkins, Omarion Clark, Jaron, Trey and Erika Paulk, Nyla Veal, John Dennis and Cali Smith; great grandchildren, Tobias Watkins, Jr. and Cah'Niyah Darden; brothers, Sylvester Watkins, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Shirley A. Jones, Lorraine Mitchell, Sylvia Watkins; step-sisters, Sylvia and Beatrice Watson; nieces, Jacqueline Wright, Ebony Mitchell, Essiya Watkins, Essence Watkins, Mahogany and Bashka Brewer; nephews, David Watkins, very devoted, Frank Mitchell, Jr., Fred Mitchell, Leonard Brewer, Jr., and Allen-Michael Williams; a host of sorrowing great nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held Friday, December 11th at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
