Homegoing Services for Mrs. Marshall Nelson of Tampa who passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, will be held Saturday, December 1st, 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 East Hanna Avenue, Rev. Michael Neely, pastor officiating. Mrs. Marshall Adela Nelson 85 (Palm River section in Tampa, FL, passed in her sleep November 19, 2012 after excellent long term care at The Consulate Healthcare Facility in Brandon, FL. She was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah and Alice Porter; brothers, Mr. Mammon Porter, Mr. David Porter and Mr. Charlie Porter; sisters, Mrs. Mary Francis Lamar, and Mrs. Addie Bell Erving; grandchild, Mr. Shyrone Nelson are all forever remembered. She was born February 11, 1927 in Sasser, Georgia, 14 miles NW of Albany, Georgia, one of seven children. She is survived by her seven sons, Mr. Willie Nelson Jr. (Tampa, FL), Mr. Arthur Lee Nelson (Tampa, FL), Mr. Isaiah Nelson and wife Fumiko (Tampa, FL), Mr. Theodis R. Nelson (Tampa, FL), Mr. Emmett J. Nelson (Tampa, FL), Mr. Leroy Marshall Nelson and wife Linda (Yorktown, VA.) and Willie Tootsie Nelson and wife Milrinette (Atlanta, GA); sister, Mrs. Catherine English of Palm River; sister in-law, Mrs. Betsy Porter ( Tampa, FL); grandchildren, Mrs. Lisa Hall (Tampa), Mrs. Vamecia Nelson (Tampa, FL), Mrs. Lakeshia Nelson (Tampa, FL), Mr. Leroy Nelson, Jr. (Yorktown, VA.), Mr. Joseph Nelson (Yorktown, VA.), Miss. Alice Nelson (Brandon, FL), Mr. Isaiah Nelson (Atlanta, GA.), Mr. Kevin Hughes (Tampa, FL), Mrs. Zarkissa Nelson (Wimauma, FL), Mr. Keenis Copeland, (Tampa, FL), Mrs. Chedinia Allison (Tampa, FL) and Jason A. Nelson (Alabama); nephews and nieces: Mrs. Mary Alice Homer, Mrs. Mattie James, Mrs. Nettie Mae Dennis, Mr. David Porter, Jr., Mr. Charles Porter, Mrs. Betty Warren, Mrs. Minnie Jewel Davis, Mrs. Betsy Carridaine, Mrs. Nadine Williams, Mrs. Addie Johnson, Mr. Marvin Porter, Mr. Russell Porter, and Mr. Louis Neal Hill (Lakeland, FL).Marshall Nelson lived in Tampa, FL for more than fifty five years and has a large family of great grandchildren and friends throughout the community. Special thanks to Barbara Copeland, Betty Warren and Mary Marshall for their help and concern during this and other times throughout the years. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service on Saturday.
