A Celebration of Life for a loving mother and grandmother, Sis. Martha Hepburn Cail of Tampa, Florida who passed away, Friday, January 7, 2011, will be held Saturday, January 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Sinai African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 2909 N. Nebraska Avenue, Rev. Lillian Zakay, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Have Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Martha Hepburn Cail was born, on March 18, 1929 and baptized and educated in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Don Thompson in 1948. She followed her family and became a Methodist at an early age, never departing from AME religious faith. She joined and served Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church at an early age. During her school aged years and after returning from Nursing School, she continued her membership with the church. Before a brief confinement due to illness, she was very active in the Hillsborough County community and churches. As a Deaconess of the church, Superintendent of Sunday School, Trustees, and Christian Education Ministry, she worked closely with and supported numerous ministers who made regularly visits to her during her illness. She was very emphatic that her children and family attended special programs at Mt. Sinai AME Zion Church to support her. She was an enthusiastic giver to her church and always donated to programs and cooked diligently at church, at home and wherever necessary to feed program participants on God's programs. She was a very proud nurse and started nursing career at Lincoln Memorial Hospital on 29th Street. She worked at USF as a Custodial Supervisor for eighteen years until 1988. After the passing of her husband, Frank "Sunny Boy" Cail, she retired and served the Lord and her family. The Cail Family was well known in the Central Park Village where her children were raised and educated before moving on Comanche Avenue in East Tampa. That resident became the Hospice House of the Hepburn brothers who became ill before their passing. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving children, Alva Cail Williams [David], Veronica Cail Ramirez-Rodriguez, Frank Cail [Marian], George Cail [LoVeta], LaSharn Cail Cusseaux - all of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Pitts, Wendell Ramirez, Jr., Michael Ramirez (Courtney), Coneathia Watts, Antonio Cail, Adrione Cail (Eva), Chris & Jordan Grimes, Wesley, Dhari and Wendell Lewis, Hosea, Tara, Nakisca, George Jr. and George III.; great grandchildren, Zaire Brooks, Emani, Adrione Joel, Leyla Cail;brothers and sisters, Henry H. Hepburn, Jr. [Mary] - Florence, SC, Harold Hepburn [Margaret] - Columbia, SC, preceded her in death were Howard Hepburn [Leora], Leroy Hepburn, Harry and Samuel Hepburn, Margie Hepburn Williams [Leroy], and Camille Hepburn Williams [Henry];nephews, Bobby Williams [Jessie], - Spring Lake, NC, Leroy Williams [Virginia] - Tampa, FL, Malcolm Anthony Hepburn [Angel], Mark Christopher Hepburn, Leroy Williams, Victor Williams [Melody], Matthew Darryl Hepburn [Carolyn], Gregory Hepburn [Linda], David Hepburn, Vince Williams [Shagater] - all of Tampa, FL, and numerous others; nieces, Barbara Hepburn Ford [Ben], - Prince George, VA, Josephine Williams Triplett [Herman] - Annapolis, MD, Ruthie Williams Johnson - Annapolis, MD, The Late Katherine Beatrice Hepburn, Dr. Carolyn Leora Hepburn Collins [Norris], Debra Theora Hepburn Taylor, D. Nikki Williams Knight [Peter], Virginia Williams Gates, Michelle Walker, and Sonya Jordan and numerous others; a host of other close cousins, relatives and friends, to include, the Collins, Lesters, Taylors, Williams, Chavous and Tuckers of Daytona Beach, FL, Williams of Atlanta, GA, Veola Williams, Alice Sherman, Dorothy Lockley, Mary Daniels, Gail Lee, Sharon Thompson, Tammy Jackson, Margie Pearson, Tampa daughters to include Tronda, Pat, Irene, Quincenia Bell, Cails, Elaine Jones, Virgil Tyler, Lucy Mitchell, LaTonya Jones, Gwen Carson, Sadie Sisdry, Mary P. Smith, Nita Bradley, Ilona Hardrick, Margaret Sims, Gloria Shellman, Betty Richmond, Brenda Sullivan and Charlotte Simmons and countless others; goddaughters, Cheryl Collins, Beverly Bowden, Shayla Jones, Deidra Davis, and Harvey; The viewing will be held at her church Mt. Sinai AME Church, 2909 N. Nebraska Ave. from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
