Obituary

Memorial service for Mrs. Martha Louise Williams of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011, will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Louis Jones, pastor officiating. Martha Louise Williams was born July 12, 1945 in Colquitt, GA. She retired from the United States Post Office in 2006 after 33 years of service. Mrs. Williams graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Sarasota, FL. She attended Florida A&M University and earned her Bachelor's degree from National Louis University. She was the Worthy Past Matron of Unity Chapter 4 Order of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Sociedad La Union Marti-Maceo, and past president of Lucy Dell Neighborhood Association. She was actively involved in the political campaigns of President Barack Obama and State Rep. Betty Reed. Mrs. Williams used her artistic and creative talents to found her event planning company Peaches & Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Williams; daughter, Tasha Ricks Campbell; and her parents, Rosie Jean Turner and Collis Jones. She is survived by her son, James O Ricks III (Enjunique); step-dauthter, Kentareya Williams; grandsons, James O. Ricks IV, Alexander Ricks, Brandon Horace and Leroy Campbell, Jr.; niece, Tasja Williams and a host of cousins, neighbors and friends. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd Street, Temple Terrace, Fl 33617. There will be no viewing.
