Homegoing services for Mrs. Mary Jane Keepler Black of 5001 Cluster Avenue, who passed away, Wednesday, November 17, 2010, will be held, Tuesday, November 23rd, at 1:00 p.m. at Belmont Heights Church of Christ 5701 N. 30th Street, with Evangelist A. Williams, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Black was born July 29, 1917 in Georgia. In 1947 she moved to Tampa, Florida. She was married to Willie F. Black Golf Pro at Rogers Park for 50 years. She was a retired LPN at a hospital and the 30th street clinic. Mrs. Mary Black was a member of Rogers Park Women's golf club. She was a volunteer for the Foster grandparents for 10 years at the DACCO Center. She was a devoted member of 32nd St. Church of Christ and Belmont Heights Church of Christ. Her hobbies were gardening, crocheting and sewing. She was, "Mom Mary" or "Granny" to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, Clarence Bailey; sisters, Clara Smith and Pauline Williams; brothers, Buddy Thomas and Darling Keepler, grandsons, Ronnie Thompson and Andre Black; nieces, Elizabeth Cross, Louise Brown, Clarice Sehnert and Pauline Howard; nephew, James Williams; aunt, Susie Griffin; uncle, Edd Keepler; father, Tom Keepler; mother, Mamie Scott; adopted mother, Lizzie Thomas and husband, Willie Black. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Juanita C. Brown of Tampa, Fl, Ralph Bailey and wife, Gracie, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Willie Franklin Black and wife, Shirley, Staten Island, NY; grandchildren, Duane Brown (Cheryl) College Park, GA, Venetia Brown, Sharon Chase, Tonya James (Clarence) Francine Bailey, Chicago, IL, Carleton Bynum and wife, Jeannie, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Antonio Ware and Renee Stamford, Connecticut, Mandela Bailey, Tampa, Toni Renee Lester, Tampa, Cheryl Black, MD, Katrina Watkins (Lee) NY, W. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday for the service.
