Homegoing Services for Mrs. Mary Alice Corbett of Tampa who passed away Sunday June 26, 2011, will be held Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m., at Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Ave., Elder Theodis Lane, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mary Alice Corbett was born March 27, 1925 in Tampa, Florida. She was a faithful member of Greater New Salem, serving on the usher board. She was a certified nurse assistant for 20 years at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mary loved to attend church, usher meetings, dancing and visiting with her friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jenny Parker-Cox: husband, Willie Corbett; sister, Freddie Jackson; daughter, Edith Underwood; grandson, Chivarsky Corbett and longtime friend, Flora Mae Davis. She leaves to cherish her memories children, Joyce (Major) Bloom, Willie (Carrie) Corbett, Patricia Corbett and Louis (Joyce) Corbett; grandchildren, Vernon Underwood, Renee (Shan) Hitchcock, Jessie (Silvia) Hall, Major (Sheila) Bloom III, Luciana (Arviel) Jenkins, Chianti Bloom, Raylette Faircloth, Shawn Dunbar, Victor (Sharon) Underwood, Nikki Hitchcock, Ashawki Corbett, Demetrius Corbett, Tamekia Corbett, Anastasia Lee and Ashley Corbett; sister, Pauline Rogers; nieces, Jeanette Young, Angelia Petterson, Sylvia, Brenda Joyce, Romain Johnson, Wanda Jean and Belinda; nephews, Johnny Foster, Dale, Thomas and Lemuel; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins; devoted families, the Holmes, Gilchrist, Green, Lillies, Davis, Jenkins, Jones, Joyner, Johnny Mae Williams family; devoted friends, Betty Chester, Ms Bay Honey, Ernie Calhoun and Shirley Hicks and Chelmer Goodson, the entire Greater New Salem Church family, Pilgrim Rest family, Sophisticated Ladies and Loving Princess Chapter # 308. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm, Friday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Church on Saturday.
