Mary was born on March 2, 1928, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Corrine Johnson.

She loved working, cooking, dancing, planting flowers, and making her favorite frozen cups. Mary was affectionately nicknamed, "Frozen Cup Lady."

She was preceded in death by her mother, Corrine Johnson; children, Rena M. Vance and Edward Anderson; siblings, Horace and Howard Petty.

She leaves precious memories with her children, Juanita Jenkins of Valdosta, GA, Josie Anderson of Tampa, Bobbie Jean Petty of Tampa, Eddie B. Johnson of Valdosta, GA, Jessie Anderson of Tampa, Leon Anderson of Tampa, and Toby Gamble (Valentine) of Tampa; grandchildren, Debbie Poole, Linda Poole, Gary Poole (Carolyn), Leisa Hill of SC, Carl Hill (Alesia) of GA, LaShonda Anderson, Aretha Anderson, John, James Frazier (Janice), Lorenzo Anderson, Derick Anderson, Cherricka Branton, Twonda Anderson, Terrance Brown, James Sipp, Anisa Anderson, Ketha Agee, Denise Petty Floyd (Sedric), Priscilla Petty, Tiffani Petty, Horace Petty, Jr., Carla Diggs (Lance), Scharad Gamble of CA, Toby Gamble, Jr. (Kristen) of VA, and Tevin Gamble (Ashlei) of AL; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Annie Bell Williams, Carrie Denson, Bill, and John; special thanks to Ponce De Leon family, and College Hill family.
