A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cooper Rumph of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019, will be held Saturday October 26th, 3:00 p.m. at Friendly M.B. Church, 2012 N. Tampania St., Rev. Johnny Miller, pastor, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary Cooper Rumph 'Liz' born December 18, 1927, in Tampa, to the late George and Arceola Lemon, Liz graduated from Middleton Senior High School. At an early age, Liz accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and never left that path. She joined Friendly M.B. Church and served on many auxiliaries. Liz was a loving mother, grandmother, sibling, aunt and friend. Liz with her quiet unassuming demeanor, gave positive guidance everyone. In the early 50's, Liz was united in marriage to Cornell Cooper, Sr. and was blessed with two children. Liz was additionally blessed with 4 more children with George Brown. She retired from Singleton Seafood Company, after 15 years of dedicated service. Liz was preceded in death by her brother, Ulysses Lemon and sisters, Ruth Mae Mathis, Johnnie Mae Canady and Barbara Culpepper. She leaves fond memories of love and faith with her daughters, Linda Johnson (Bobby) and Sylvia Merritt (Jimmy); sons, Cornell Cooper (Cosandra) and Aaron Brown; grandchildren, Dwanue and Bobby Johnson, Jr. (Nikki), Robin Hewitt (Wes), Crystal Brown, Derrick Cooper (Kimberly), Tasha and Frederick Henry, Jr. (Tekkia); 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Willie Lemon, Sr.; sisters, Margaret McQuay, Daisy Shepherd, Laura Joiner and Gloria George; a host of other relatives, including the Williams family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family willreceive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
