A homegoing celebration for Deaconess Mary E. White of Tampa who passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Larry Roundtree II, pastor officiating with Rev. Donald White, eulogist. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary E. White was born April 9, 1932 in Vienna, Georgia to the late J.C. and Gussie Dawson. She was baptized at an early age in Vienna, Georgia. Deaconess Mary E. White was a member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, where she served faithfully. She enjoyed going to the flea market with her sister, Lois and also enjoyed having family gatherings at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Gussie Dawson; husband, Deacon Arthur Lee White, Sr.; children, Linda White McKenzie, Arthur Lee White, Jr., James White and Pastor Larry White; siblings, W.C. Dawson, Earline McKenzie and James Dawson. She leaves to cherish her memories with: 3 caring sons, Bro. Jimmy White, Sr. (Annie), Pastor Donald White (Marie) and Deacon Lawrence White (Vivian); daughters-in-law, Linda White and Vivian White; grandchildren, Charlenthia White, Jimmy White, Jr., and Eugene McKinnie, Letashia Long (Craig), Arthur White III, Kody White (Shavon), Anton White, Zellwana, Gregory and Michael White, James, Jr., Jody Gus and Ashley White, Bridget Tarver, Albertina Newsome, Donna Adams (Lucian), Evan. Samantha Bolton Randall, Dontae' White (Dominique), Teri Bolton, Lori White Stanley (Rickey), Leon Wayfield, Melody Millian, Delvin White (Kywanda), Fiona Williams (Phillip) and Demetrious (Amber); a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Lois Brown and Wynett Jordan, Vienna, GA; special niece, Ruth Jones; godson, Pastor Danny Osborne (Katrina); and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 22nd, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
