Marzetta Nonette-Howell was born on June 15th, 1960, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is one of five children born to the union of the late George Nonette Sr, and Mary January. From an early age, it was clear that Marzetta possessed a vibrant spirit and zest for life that would inspire those who knew her. Throughout her lifes journey, Marzetta touched the lives of all she encountered and left an indelible mark and impact on the world around her.
Marzettas greatest joy was her family and the Father. She served both, not only with zeal but with infectious, tender love. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 34 years, Apostle James H. Howell and a devoted mother and grandmother to her four sons and grandchildren. She created a home of warmth, acceptance and love, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Marzetta held her family close, and her unwavering support and guidance will reverberate for generations to come.
Professionally, Marzetta served alongside her husband, Apostle James H. Howell was Co-Pastor and Co-laborer of Cathedral of Faith Ministries for 34 years. She lived her life in service to others and was known for her keen discernment, her love of scripture and prayer, and her unwavering commitment to the kingdom of God. Marzetta was a mentor and role model to many colleagues, inspiring them to reach their full potential.
Beyond her professional life, Marzetta was a pillar in her community. She believed in giving back and making a positive difference. She actively served the food pantry, until she was physically unable to do so. Throughout her life, Marzetta actively volunteered with many charitable and community-based organizations, contributing her time, resources and more importantly her voice to uplift those who were often forgotten and overlooked.
Marzetta had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life, her kindness and compassion were two of her greatest assets and gifts.
Marzetta is survived by her loving husband, Apostle James H. Howell, their children Joel (Heather) Howell, Jamel (Nikki) Howell, Jireh H. Howell, Jaydlin H. Howell, her beautiful grandchildren, Judah, Jasper, Josiah, Josalyn, Jeremiah, JiAire, Serenity and Seriah. Her mother, Mary January, Brothers Terrell (Jennifer) Nonette, Eric Nonette, George (Dasia) Nonette Jr., cousin, Tamie Staton, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Nonette Sr., and her brother, Gerrell L. Nonette.
Marzettas departure leaves an immense void in the lives of family and friends, and we deeply mourn her loss. We take comfort in knowing that she has left an indelible imprint on our lives. May we honor her memory by living each day with the same passion, kindness, and love that she so effortlessly embodied. Rest in peace, dear Marzetta, you will be forever loved and profoundly missed.
