Obituary

Mrs.Maudie Mae Marshall, affectionately known as "Sistergirl," was born on March 31, 1935, in Americus, Georgia. At an early age, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and lived her life grounded in faith, love, and service to others. In her latter life she was a member of the Jehovah witness congregation. She attended schools in Sumpter County, GA and Hillsborough County, FL. Maudie had a deep love for reading and studying the Bible.

In her quiet moments, she enjoyed playing solitaire and challenging herself with complex crossword puzzles. She also loved traveling and experiencing new places. Above all else, Maudie cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her large, loving family of nieces and nephews—especially during family gatherings and reunions, which brought her great joy.

She furthered her education at Jones College in Tampa, Florida, and went on to dedicate many years of service working at Tampa General Hospital and ACTS in Tampa. Her professional life reflected the same compassion and generosity she showed in her personal life. Maudie was faith-filled, loving, generous, courageous, and wise. She was known for her cheerful spirit, kind heart, and gentle manners. Always polite and welcoming, she met everyone with a warm smile that made others feel seen and valued.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Smith and Addie Pace; husband, Donald Marshall, Jr.; son, Anthony J. Marshall; grandchildren, Erin E. Marshall and Marlon Moten; and sister, Willie Mae James.
