A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Maureen L. Harris of Tampa who passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 2511 E. Columbus Dr., Rev. Larry Roundtree II, pastor officiating. Maureen Harris was born May 26, 1927 to the parentage of the late Mr. Ben and Ollie Harris in Marianna, FL. She was the oldest of their five children. Maureen was always a loving and caring woman. She served in customer service as a salesclerk at Burdines, church finance secretary, and community advocate at One Stop, helping people in the community find jobs, housing, and food. Lastly, she served 43 years as a Registered Scrub Technician, working in hospital operating rooms. Her working spirit did not let retirement slow her down. She continued to serve as a volunteer in the community and church. Maureen grew up in the church and served the Lord within each church home she was a member of during her early travels. Prior to her residing in Tampa Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Maureen was a faithful member of Peace Baptist Church in Tampa, FL. Maureen was preceded in death by her former spouse, Frank Andrews; daughter, Cheryl Jackson; and brothers, John Harris and Charlie Harris; grandchildren, Kimberly Jackson, Christopher Jackson and Shelton Jackson. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sisters, Mrs. Elouise Patrick and Dr. Irene H. Johnson; her sons, Duncan Andrews, Daryl Andrews, and Patrick Andrews, Sr. and daughter-in-law, Robyn Andrews; her grandchildren, Joi Sutton (Shawn), LaTasha Raymond, Duncan Andrews (Markeisha), Patrick Andrews, Jr., Roshonda Royster (John), Precious Andrews, Trevonti Andrews, and Larvonti Andrews; great-grandchildren, Deondre Andrews, Dennard Crawford, Duncan Andrews, Jr., Destiny Andrews, Da'Myah Andrews, Shon Sutton, John Royster III, and Arya Andrews. Maureen also leaves behind great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 6th from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. the family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
