Maxwell, affectionately nicknamed, "Courtney", was born on July 12, 1971, in St. Catherine, Jamaica, to Frederick Bedward and Leonieln Bedward. His favorite activities were welding, painting, fishing, drawing, and listening to music.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Bedward; son, Maxwell Bedward, Jr.; and brother, Andre Bedward.

He leaves precious memories with his wife, Kyona Bedward; children, Kimani, Danielle, and Jaylin; grandchildren, Chimarria, Amari, Nathan, Temilia, Malaysia, and Aaron; mother, Leonieln Bedward; brother, Frederick Bedward, Jr. (Cierra); sister, Tanya Bedward; aunts, Dezlin, Florence, Mora, Floreth, and Janice; uncles, Jimmy, Trevor, Allan, Harry, and Joel; nieces, Rhonique Bedward, Tiana Bedward, and Justyss Jelks; nephews, Darien Bedward and Elijah Jelks; and a host of cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
