Ms. Maye Gay, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished family matriarch, was born on January 5, 1949, in Moultrie, Georgia, to the late Timmy Lee Bunnion and Willie Mae Bunnion. She passed away surrounded by the love and memories she so generously gave throughout her life. Maye was known for her love of cooking and the joy she found in spending time with her family. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, where meals were made with love and memories were created that will be treasured forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Timmy Lee Bunnion and Willie Mae Bunnion; husband, James Wimbush; brother, Daniel Bunnion; and her sisters, Betty Ann Milledge and Josephine Bunnion.

Maye leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted children; sons, Donald Willis, Angelo Gay, Sammie Gay (Sharron), Tommy Gay (Clarissa) and Willie Wimbush; and daughter, Monica Johnson. She also leaves a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Tominique Gay (affectionately known as "Lil Maye Eva"), Sammie Gay, Jr., Shaun Gay, Zakhari Wimbush ("Bear"), and others who held a special place in her heart. Maye Gay will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her deep love for family, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
