A homegoing celebration for Mr. Melvin Bernard McDaniels of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 will be held Saturday, January 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Pastor. Cleveland Lane, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Melvin Bernard McDaniels was born February 23, 1947 in Tampa, Florida to the late Willie B. and Marie McDaniels. He attended the local schools of Hillsborough County. He was an avid domino player. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin, Willie B 'Bud', Tyrone and Wayne; sisters, Maggie, Willie Mae and Leola. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife, Patricia Garrett McDaniels; children, Sharon Stokes (London) and DeQuan McDaniels; grandchildren, Darius Stokes and Dakota Gainous; brothers, Norman McDaniels and Elton McDaniels (Bettie); a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Andrew Anderson (Val). The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service at 10:45 a.m.
