Homegoing services for Mrs. Melvina Hannah Ellison of Tampa, who passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, will be held on Saturday, January 5th, 11:00 a.m. at New Hope M.B. Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Rev. Dr. T.W. Jenkins, pastor officiating, Rev. Dr. Calvin McFadden, eulogist. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Melvina Ellison was born on September 12, 1909 in Umatilla, Florida. She was a founder of New Hope M.B. Church. She enjoyed reading her bible and daily word, singing, baking, cleaning and being an independent lady. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 1 brother. She leaves to honor her memory, her children, William Ellison, Jr. (Ira Mae), Eddie Ellison (Alberta) and Mildred Ellison; grandchildren, Alphonso Sampson, Delores Ellison Downing (Keith), Lorraine Ellison Hillman (Calvin), Evelyn Ellison McFadden (Joseph), Debra Ellison Knight, Linda Moon (Hylon), Wanda Hollins (Edward) and Dwayne Singletary; 20 great grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of doting nieces, nephews and other relatives. The viewing will be held at New Hope M.B. Church on Friday, January 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
