Obituary

Celebration of Life for Miss Mia Imani Brewer of 9408 Channing Circle, #1201, Tampa, Florida, who passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010, will be held Saturday, June 5th, at 11:30 a.m. at Springhill M. B. Church, 8119 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., Rev. Eugene Garnett, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mia was born on March 14, 2007, to John, Sr. and Porschea Brewer. Mia was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cindy Carswell; maternal great-grandmothers, Sarah P. Graddy and Joyce Pearsons; paternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Brewer; great-grandfathers, John Willis Brewer and Salvatore McCullough. She was sent to us in the form of an angel for only three brief years. During this time, she was cherished by her school staff at Pediatric Health Choice. Mia oftentimes was called, "Mama Mia" or "Baby Girl" and was loved by many and loved to hear her big brother sing Michael Jackson songs. Mia attended Springhill M. B. Church all of her life. Mia will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted parents, John, Sr. and Porschea Brewer; one sister, Ta'Niyah Brewer; one brother, John Brewer, Jr., one godsister, Cassidy Jackson; two godbrothers, Jimmy Helms, Jr. and Zi'year Davis; grandmother, Alesia Brewer; grandfathers, Edward Graddy, Jr. and Jose (Cathy) Mendoza; great grandmothers, Brenda (William) Crawford and Maria Pastoresa; great grandfathers, Deacon Edward Graddy, Sr. and Elio (Jackie) Valdez; six aunts, Sherika Brewer, Maria Mendoza, Talea Allen, Johnisha Graddy, Minnie Graddy and Carrisha Graddy; six uncles, Marvin Brewer, Derrick Johnson, Jr., Maurice Brewer, Jose Mendoza, Jr., Dyrell Carrolls, Lienardo Mendoza; and a host of sorrowing great aunts, great uncles, cousins and friends; special friends, the National Tay-Sachs Disease Families, PPEC, Life Path Hospice (Coral Team), the entire Springhill M. B. Church; godparents, Jimmie and Tyrita Helms, great godparents, Sylvester and Kay Powell and Min. Jacqueline Leeks. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 11:15 a.m. for the service. (Honor Mia by wearing pink and white.)
