Homegoing Services for Mr. Michael A. Bruce of Tampa who passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, will be held Saturday, July 9th at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist of West Tampa, 1302 W. LaSalle Street, Rev. Harper, pastor and Minister Edward McDaniel, officiating. Mr. Michael Bruce was born on March 18, 1961, in Lake Placid, Florida, to the late Irvin and Naomi Bruce. He and the family moved to Tampa in 1961 where he attended public schools and graduated from Brandon High School in 1979. He was employed with Cargill/Mosaic Fertilizer for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mr. Howard Gadson; nephews, Henry Gadson and Theolius Edward and Aunt, Ruth Munnings, who was the twin sister to his mother. He leaves to cherish fond memories, wife, Rosa M. Bruce; one son, Marquis, two daughters, Nikya, Plykesia Bruce and stepson, Danario Smith; four grandchildren, Rejea, Da'Shanti, Ayanna and Miyanni; one aunt, Maybell Wells of Jersey City, NJ; mother-in-law, Sadie Wilson; two brothers, Keith Bruce and wife, Renee and Joseph Bruce; six sisters, Shirley Gadson, Joan and husband, Rev. Ishmael Dunkley, Carol Frazier and special friend, Reche Gadis, Patsy, Deborah and husband, Richard Scott, Naomi R. Bruce and special friend, Bill McPhaul all of Tampa; three brothers-in-law, James Jr., Johnny and wife, Valla and Michael Wilson; three sisters-in-law, Helena and husband, Sam Hawkins, Ann and husband, Jerome Johnson, Dorothy and husband, William Hall; 13 nieces and nephews, Marlene, Denziel, Sheila, Rita, Tellie, Amida, Marquita, Gregory, Keith Jr., Monique, Dana, Lisa, Priscilla and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 1:45 p.m.
