Obituary

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18

With deepest love and profound sorrow, the family of Milyah Jones announces her passing. Born on August 1, 2013, in Atlanta, GA, Milyah was the best daughter anyone could ask or pray for—an irreplaceable light whose presence filled every room with joy. The only girl out of four children, she held a special place in the hearts of her parents and brothers, who loved her dearly. Milyah was exceptionally smart, kind, and thoughtful. Quiet at times, but just as often outspoken, she possessed a vibrant personality that made her unforgettable. She was funny, quick-witted, and always ready with a joke—truly the one who could make everyone around her laugh. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will forever be cherished. A creative spirit, Milyah enjoyed taking pictures and recording videos for her TikTok and YouTube channel. She also loved listening to music, especially her favorite artists, Michael Jackson and Rod Wave. She adored her brothers and was unquestionably both a Daddy's and Mommy's girl. Milyah dreamed of playing basketball and aspired to attend the University of Tampa or Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, where she planned to study Biological Sciences. Her ambition, curiosity, and passion for learning promised a bright future. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Milyah will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, her humor, her compassion, and the joy she brought to everyone blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Exie Ardale Jones; maternal grandparents, Nathaniel, Jr. and Alma Sims; paternal aunt and uncles, Carolyn Howard, Sherman Houston and William Houston; maternal aunts and uncle, Mary Scott Daniels, James Whipps, Emma Thomas and Loretta Sims.
