There will be a Celebration of Love service held in honor of Minister George 'GRAMPS' Harris who peacefully transitioned onJune 18, 2021. Services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3201 E. Lake Ave., Dr. H.L. Daniels officiating. Minister George Harris was born on July 27, 1945, to George and Tommie Lane. He was a faithful member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Minister George Harris enjoyed baseball, basketball, singing, dancing, and music.

He was predeceasedin death by his parents, son, Bobby Earl Anderson, and brothers, Andrew Harris and James Powell. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories wife, Anna M. Harris; children, Emmie Jerrelds, Preceida Richardson, Tarsha Harris, and Lisa Anderson. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Lane (EuSandra), Leroy Lane (Mary Dallas), and Eugene Lane; sisters, Mattie Sullen and Catherine Lane; mother-in-law, Betty Bryant and goddaughters, Doretha Gilmore-Holder and Anna Williams-Hamilton. The visitation will be held on Friday, June 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday, for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.
