Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Minister Ennis Agee, III "James" of Tampa, Florida who passed away on June 7, 2009, will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009, 11:00 a.m., New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Rev. Dr. T.W. Jenkins, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Ennis was born September 20, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Ennis Agee, II and Fannie Agee. Ennis was a graduate of Middleton Senior High School and served honorably in the United States Army. He was employed by the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department for thirty years. Minister Agee was a minister and member of New Hope M.B. Church. He was the Praise and Worship Leader at New Hope M.B. Church and was just recently installed as Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of the Mt. Pilgram Association. He was also an avid tennis player and licensed to teach tennis by the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Ennis also loved to play basketball and enjoyed his daily exercise of jogging. Ennis never met a stranger and was a witness to everyone he came in contact with, his favorite place to minister to others at was Rowlette Park. Ennis was preceded in death by his father, Ennis, II. His memory will be cherished by his loving and dedicated wife, Marcia; children, Demetra Agee of Jacksoville, FL, Niya (Lance) Hawkins, Tampa, FL, Niyelle Agee, Miami, FL, Jonathan Baldwin, Rachel Agee and Jared Agee, all of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Donovan Redden, Devin Redden, Lazarus Hawkins, Laziah Hawkins and Niyasia Hawkins; mother Fannie Agee; brothers, Jimmy Agee, Tampa, FL, Terry Agee, Savannah, GA and Mark Agee, Tampa, FL; sisters, Shirley Agee, Sheila Agee and Jacqueline Agee, all of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Steve (Mangi) Thomas, Spring, TX; sisters-in-law, Regina (Steve) Marshall, Aliquippa, PA, Valerie Kennedy, Cincinnati, OH and Shena Benskin, Fishers, IN; nieces, Taketha, Ladria, Shaniqua, Shakari, Keyanna, Yazy, Selena and Stephanie; nephews, Lenox, Brandon, Jordan, Tyre, Jordan, Rand, Charles, Quinn and Omari; mother-in-law, Cleo (Eugene) Thomas; goddaughter, Rosetta Bowser; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. The visitation will be on Friday, June 12th, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church from 5 to 8 p.m. The wake will begin at 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for those who wish to express their thoughts and prayers to the family. There will be no viewing on the day of the funeral ceremony. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for the service. In lieu, of flowers please make donations to Lifelink of Florida, Life Path Hospice or the Kidney Foundation.
