Homegoing services for Mrs. Minnie Lee McNeal-Johnson who on Friday, January 1, 2010 the Lord whispered softly and called her home to rest, will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010, 10:30 a.m., Faith Life Church, 4902 Busch Blvd., Pastor Jane McDonnough, with Minister Gail Anderson, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Minnie was born March 3, 1938 in Cairo, Georgia to the late Freeman and Lucinda Dozier. She was a graduate of the Grady County School System. In 1958, she moved to Tampa and was united in marriage to the late Charles McNeal. Later, in life she was united in marriage to the love of her life Ray Johnson, Sr. and there she fulfilled her vows for forty-six years "of till death do us part". Minnie was employed at the Royal Plaza for fifteen years then later she retired after twenty years of service from the office of Attorney Steve Levine. Mrs. Johnson confessed Christ at an early age; she was a member of Faith Life Church, Tampa, Florida. Minnie was a marvelous mother, gracious grandmother, and a terrific great and great great grandmother. Her greatest joy was to be with her children and play cards on the weekend. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. & Mrs. Freeman (Lucinda) Dozier, two brothers Willie C. Dozier and Willie Frank Dozier. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: A loving husband, Ray Johnson Sr.; 10 children, Joann Atkins (Curtis), Diane McNeal (William), Charles McNeal, Annette House (Napoleon), James Battle (Allegra), Jacqueline Johnson (Anthony), Carolyn McNeal (Remy), Gwendolyn McNeal (Tony), Tony Johnson and Derrick Johnson (Leticia) all of Tampa. 3 step- children: Evelyn Lucas (Ash), Mae Liza Bellamy, and Robert Lee Johnson (Lillian) Jacksonville. Grand-children: Leroy Brown, Chris Sanders, Kesha Dozier, Kella Dozier, Paul Williams, Sebrina Ellis, Katurah McNeal, Carl Askew, Kimberly Askew, Laverne Jackson, Chastity McNeal, Tawanda Jackson, Rhonda Jackson, Horace Sheppard, Shenale Jelks, Reginald Jelks, Tamika Brown Teresa Jelks, Harriett Hillman, Harold Hillman, Rakim Philon, James Battle, Tashara Reese, Jannail McNeal, Remy Kerrolle, Timothy Kick, Donna McNeal, Nicole McNeal, Charles McNeal, Richard Walton, Tonia Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Darious Johnson, Darielle Johnson, Dariona Johnson and Cedrina McNeal; 59 great grand children; 7 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Charlie Dozier (Flossie) of Jacksonville, FL; several nieces and nephews some of whom are: Sabrina Hendley, Faye Tyson, and James Dozier, all of Jacksonville, FL; 1 sister-in-law, Vera Lee Allen (Henry). Devoted friends: Yvonne & James Sanders, Andrew Scagglioni and Richard Navarro; a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends to numerous to mention.
