Molbert Eugenia Robinson Scrivens received her heavenly wings early in the morning on July 14, 2021.
Molbert Eugenia Robinson Scrivens was born at Lily White Hospital on August 13, 1946, in Tampa, FL; she was the second child of three. She attended Hillsborough County public schools and graduated from Middleton Sr. High School in 1964. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Bethune Cookman College in 1968, and a Master of Education degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1974.
She was a lifelong educator recognized by the School Board of Hillsborough County for 37 years of dedicated service to the education profession. Molbert was a life member of the Hillsborough County Bethune Cookman University Alumni Association and served as its President and Treasurer for many years. She was a Charter member of the Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a Life Member of the Tampa Metropolitan Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. She was appointed to the NCNW Coalition State Audit Committee in 2021. Molbert was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and held many positions, including Parish Council President. She was a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and received a certificate of merit as a 50 Year member.
Molbert enjoyed playing Scrabble and Bid Whist with friends and family. In her spare time, she also cherished tending to her plants and flowers. During her 52 years of marriage, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling and visited four of the seven continents. Molbert was preceded in death by her mother and father Leonie and JohnSamuel Robinson, Sr; a dear aunt Mollie Boone; brother in law Theodore Franklin, Jr.; grandnephew Theodore Franklin, IV; mother and father in law Ethel and John Jerome Scrivens Sr.; sisters in law Janet Scrivens Woods, and Beverly Scrivens White Cook.
Molbert was the loving and devoted wife of Dr. John Jerome Scrivens, Jr. and mother of three children, John Scrivens III, (Shaunette) San Jose, CA, Dr. Jevin Scrivens (Diane), Weston, FL, and Janelle Scrivens Ferguson (Reginald), Tampa, FL. She also leaves one sister Lejoan Franklin, Tampa FL, one brother John Robinson, Jr., Tampa FL; two sisters in law Jacquelyn Sample (Paul), Denver, CO, and Wilma Scrivens, Tampa, FL; and one brother in law Dr. Frank Cook, Atlanta, GA. Her transition leaves a void in the hearts of her five grandsons, Jevin Elliott Scrivens, John Scrivens IV, Justin Scrivens, Atelier Ferguson, and Avier Ferguson; nieces Keelie Robinson and Nichelle Alvaro; nephews Theodore Franklin III, (Bresha), Joseph White (Rhonda), Rodney White, Kobie Woods, Jeff Cook and Eric Cook (Charteva); and many cousins, friends, classmates, and Sorority Sisters.
Molbert Eugenia Robinson Scrivens will be deeply missed.
