Homegoing services for Ms. Monica Alicia Alvarez and baby Angel Alvarez of Tampa who passed away, will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 8119 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Rev. Eugene Garnett, pastor with Rev. Jonathan Watson, eulogist. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Monica was a member of Rebirth Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Zachary Hudson, pastor. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Walker Alvarez; sister, Katherine Ann Moss Fernandez; and son, Angel Alvarez. She leaves to cherish loving her loving memories: daughter, Imani Golden; father, Levi James Alvarez; brothers, Gary Walker and wife, Shylonda, Robert Walker and special friend Monita and Ralston Edman and wife, Katana; sister, Nicole Walker and special friend Tasha; aunts, Carrie Burston and Emma Crews; uncle, James Walker; nieces, Jasmine, Anayah, Michelle, Rayla, Lendria and Sedricka; nephews, Robert Jr., Raekwon, Gary, Jr., Monte, Kairo, Cory and Gary "Dre"; cousins, Pamela and Claudia Renteria; brother-in-law, Keith Fernandez; special friends, Lenora Clark and Robert Williams godparents of Imani Golden and Shanita Little, Erika McDuffy and Karen Peoples; and a host of great cousins and extended family and friends including Johnson and Kenneth Court Community. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 pm Friday. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
