Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mother Fredessa Merchann Lamar 'Tracy', of Tampa, Florida who passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 11:00 a.m. at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Apostle Mark T. Jones, pastor; Rev. Eric Bostick, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mother Fredessa Merchann Lamar, better known as Tracy, was born to the late Albert Lamar and Rebecca Elizabeth Lancaster, Friday, July 9, 1948 in Tampa, Florida. Tracy was educated in the school systems of Cleveland, Ohio and Tampa, Florida. She was a graduate of George S. Middleton Senior High, Hillsborough County school in the class of 1967.Tracy further matriculated at the great Bethune Cookman College. Tracy was a woman of many talents, one of her many gifts was that of an artist. Many of her paintings were distributed in Cleveland, Ohio. Tracy's kindness and willingness were beyond measure. God allowed Tracy the honor to become the mother of two remarkable sons, the grandmother of two amazing grandsons and one incredible daughter -in -love, all of whom she cherished and loved deeply. A Mother's love last forever but God's love is through all eternity. She was employed by The City of Tampa for more than twenty years. Later, she became an employee of the United States Postal Service and retired after thirty-two years of service. Mother Tracy accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age, she was baptized and full of the Holy Ghost in the Pentecostal faith. Tracy was a member of New St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church; she later became a member of Heritage Christian Community Baptist Church, under the tutelage of Rev. Dr. Delores James Cain. Tracy also became a part of the Mothers Ministry, and served faithfully until her health would no longer allow her to attend services. It was always her heart's desire to be able to walk back into her church services again. Mother Tracy was preceded in death by her father, Albert Lamar; mother, Rebecca Elisabeth Davis; stepfather, Willie James Davis; aunt, Essie R. Lancaster; cousins, Charlene Lancaster and Marvin Lancaster III. Those left to celebrate her life and to mourn her demise are her most loving, caring and wonderful sons, Marcellus Lebron Davis and Larry Gray (Alana); grandsons, Jackson and Logan Gray and Luiz Martinez; brothers, Leroy Davis (Shannon) and Harvey Davis (Terri); sisters, Venetta Jefferson and Claudette Furst; nephews, Harvey D. Davis, William Jefferson, Randolph Jefferson, Robert Hayden, Lucas Parker, Benyata Davis, JaMarcus Lucas, and Matthew Belnavis; nieces; very devoted niece, Doretha Belnavis, Marilyn Jefferson, Robin Hayden Wright, Andrea Jefferson, Shenna Bain (Ron), and Gabrielle Belnavis; uncle; Henry Lancaster (Erma); cousins, Marvin Lancaster, Sr. (Sharon), Doris Barnum (Joel), Maxine Durant, Wanda Green (Ernest),Gaynell Cooper, and Michael Lancaster (Sandra); godson; Tyric McCord; sister/best friend; Rogena Glean; and many other family members and very special friends, including: Chandra Williams, Linda Mungin, the Smart Family, the Mothers Ministry of Heritage Christian Community Baptist Church, United States Postal Workers, and all of the lives she touched. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
