Mr. Carl Vann, affectionately known as “Dee Dee,” was born on March 22, 1962, to Oscar and Lula Vann. Carl graduated from Hillsborough High School and built a remarkable career with the United States Postal Service, faithfully serving for 27 years. He also proudly served his country during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Carl found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially watching football and basketball. However, nothing brought him greater happiness than spending quality time with his family and friends. Known for his humorous personality, generous spirit, and loving heart, Carl had a special way of bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lula Vann; brothers, Micheal A. Vann and Keith Vann; and sisters, Loretta Vann and Christine Vann. 

He leavescherished memories to his fiancée, Angela Marcus; son, Carl Davis; daughter-in-law, Caroline Davis; grandchildren, Elijah Davis and Maliah Davis; brother, Anthony Vann; sisters, Cassandra Ball, Linda Vann, Janice Vann, Monica Vann and Tamara Vann; aunt, Cora Lee Rosson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; best friends, Darrell Dudley, Stanley Bingham, Derrick Harris, and Mark; and neighbor, Deanna Presti.
