Mr. LaChaz
Thomas
Mar 23, 1988 — Aug 8, 2026
LaChaz Robert Stanley Thomas, affectionately known as “Chaz,” was born on March 23, 1988, in Riverview, Florida, to the late Larry and Loretta Thomas. He attended Armwood High School and grew into a man whose warmth, intelligence, humor, and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Chaz had many interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed watching House of the Dragon, playing video games, reading, and, most especially, spending time with his nephew. Whether relaxing with a favorite show, becoming immersed in a good book or game, or simply enjoying time with the people he loved, Chaz appreciated the moments that made life meaningful. Chaz was the kind of person who could make you laugh, make you think, and make you feel at home—all at the same time. He loved talking about politics, culture, current events, and whatever was happening in the world. He always had something interesting and insightful to say. Whether you agreed with him or not, you could count on a conversation with Chaz to be thoughtful, engaging, and memorable. More than anything, Chaz cherished his family and friends. He cared deeply for the people in his life and was always willing to offer support, encouragement, a listening ear, or a much-needed laugh. His kindness was genuine, his presence comforting, and his friendship deeply valued. His warmth, wisdom, humor, and loving spirit touched countless lives.
Chaz was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Larry and Loretta Thomas, and his aunt, Luvator Nelson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving sister, Lameka Shedrick; aunts, Carolyn Philon (Michael), Angela Lawrence, and Barbara Everette; uncles, John Henry (Debbie); niece, Mya Shedrick; nephews, Jaden Thomas and Landen Shedrick-Thomas; and special friends, Bresha McSwain, Erika Hart, Mario Vereen, Nicholas Greco, Ryan Regidor, and Charceal Miller. He also leaves a host of loving cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were touched by his kindness, laughter, friendship, and unforgettable personality. Though Chaz is no longer with us in the way we wish he could be, the love he shared, the conversations he inspired, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. LaChaz “Chaz” Thomas will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. His memory will live on through every story told, every laugh remembered, and every life made brighter because he was a part of it.
