Tyree D. King was born on February 17, 1981, in Tampa, Florida. Tyree graduated from Hillsborough High School and continued his education at Reedley College in California, where he earned an Associate Degree. Tyree was a member of the legendary 2002 Reedley College football team that captured the Junior College National Championship. In the championship game, Tyree made his mark by scoring the first touchdown, helping propel Reedley to a 35–15 victory over College of the Canyons. The historic 2002 team was later inducted into the Reedley College Hall of Fame. Tyree later transferred to Texas Southern University, continuing both his education and athletic journey. He was last employed with Suncoast Power Solutions. Tyree’s interests extended far beyond the football field. He became a Certified Kemetic Yoga Instructor, sharing the practice and its benefits with others. He also served as Junior Warden of Nuwapian Lodge #9 in Cypress, Texas. In his leisure time, Tyree enjoyed Kemetic Yoga, fishing, reading, jam sessions, football, and creating memories with those he loved. Above all, his most treasured role was simply being Dad. His children were a source of tremendous pride and joy, and to them, he will forever hold the title “Father of the Year.” As Tyree would say, “Ain’t nothing better than a King.” He was preceded in death by his father, Kelvin King; aunts, Delbra Stowe and Faye Jones (Charles); uncles, Corey Gardner, Robbie Burney and Earl King, Sr.; grandfather, Lee Sharp; and grandmothers, Miriam Sharp and Helen King. He leaves cherished memories to his mother, Carolyn King; sons, Divynne King and Amenta King; daughter, Ma'at King; brothers, Holton Buggs (Earlene) and Bryant Johnson (Stephanie); sister, Chantal King; aunts, Renee Sharp, Cynthia Sharp, Dedra Gardner, Phyllis Davis (Jerry), Linda Lester, Elizabeth Jones (Ricky) and Kayvette Burney; uncle, Dexter Burney (Beverly); nieces, Zamyriah Newsome, Brynia Johnson and Miriam Johnson; nephew, Holton Buggs III; a host of cousins; best friend, Garnell Wilds (Aramis); and Rontavius Henry Adelina Ase Ifasaanu El (Altamease Henry El & Nadia Adebayo Henry El). Tyree will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
