Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Myra J. Williamson, of 5502 N. 43rd St., who made her transition on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, will be held Saturday, April 25th, 11:00 a.m., at New First Union M.B. Church, 3707 E. Chelsea Ave., Rev. Bruce E. Garmon, Sr., pastor, with Dr. C.L. Kennedy, pastor of Glorious Church of God in Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Williamson was born November 5, 1937 in Miami, FL. She moved to Tampa with her parents at an early age. She was the eldest and only daughter born to Deacon Colmon and Evangelist Jessie Mae Wilson. Myra graduated from Middleton High School June 7, 1957. She was a nursing assistant for many years. In 1986, she became an Avon Sales Representative and was an independent contractor for 23 years. She was a member of First Union M.B. Church for over 20 years. Later, she moved her membership to Glorious Church of God in Christ. She was one who loved her family and friends and enjoyed bringing them together for a day of laughter and joy. She enjoyed laughing, singing, dancing, playing board games and was known for traveling with her bag of games. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by both of her parents and a brother, Gerald Wilson. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: children, Jeffrey Hobbs, Sr. (Melody), Tampa, FL, Janice Lewis (Patrick), Tampa, FL, Jacquelyn Barnes (Louis), Orlando, FL, Jerry Williamson (Deneen), Tampa, FL and Jessie Betts (Terrance), Tampa, FL; special god-daughter, Gailry Bagley (Louis), Tampa, FL; 16 grandchildren, Shanitha, Micheal, Prince, Amanda, Corey, ChaMyra, Chanille, Joey, Jyra, Jaquel, Dalisha, Danielle, Jessica, Auriel, Auterya and Aujonae; 4 great-grandchildren, Jamari, Arion, Jordan and Aniya; brothers, Colmon Wilson, Jr. (Vardrene), Edward Wilson, Sr. (Patricia), Larry Wilson and Kevin Wilson (Charlotte) all of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law, Angela Wilson, Tampa, FL; aunts, Loretta Woods, Miami, FL; Vivian Holmes, Apopka, FL, Joyce Hill (Edmund), Tampa, FL, Frances Wilson, Tampa, FL, Dorothy Jean Jones (Johnny), Ft. Myers, Delores Jones, Orlando, FL and Sandra Bowens, Columbus, GA; uncles, Pastor Marvin Graham (Gloria), Lamont, FL, Joseph Graham, Ft. Myers, FL and Anthony Graham, Ft. Myers, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual sons and daughters, other special god-children, other sorrowing relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral cortege will arrange from 4210 E. Henry St. Friends are asked to assemble at the church approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday for the service.
