Obituary

Nangwaya Kimbrough was born on December 5, 1975, in Tampa, FL, to Willie Kimbrough and Robbin (Nell) Kimbrough. He was baptized and became a member of New Mt. Zion M.B. Church under the leadership of interim pastor the late Rev. Foster Garvin. He was educated through Mary Help Christian School, Tampa Catholic graduating in 1995. Nangwaya attended Wilkes-Barre University in Pennsylvania and St. May University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He went to IMG Academy in Sarasota, FL. He was employed as a personal trainer, and he was a former semi-pro football player with the Tampa Bay Cougars. He was a model, actor, and a football coach (DB coach) at Tampa Catholic, Strawberry Crest and Walton High School. He refereed at NZone Sports for 15 years, as well as some semi-pro football teams. He was employed at Leaders Furniture Warehouse in Largo, Florida at the time of his passing, as well as an entrepreneur as co-owner of Robbins Cleaning Service. Nangwaya was a member of the Sunscreen Film Festival West.

He is preceded in death by his father, Minister Willie James Kimbrough, Jr.; paternal grandparents Willie James Kimbrough, Sr. and Mamie Elizabeth Kimbrough; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rose Hannah Edwards; aunts, Veronica Kimbrough McCant, Mattie Ruth, James Brown; cousins, Tracey Belmont, Jackie Hollis and Robert Tiller; and Eddie James Butts.

He leaves precious memories with his mother, Robbin Kimbrough; children, Alexis Marcyes-Kimbrough, Teresa Kimbrough, Ka-Ny-Jah Kimbrough, Aaron Brown, Alijah Kimbrough, and Kiara Kimbrough; grandchild, Louis Negron !!!; uncles, Dwain Hannah (Arnita), Keith Hannah (Narco), Rev. Benjamin Kimbrough (Sheila), Nordine Kimbrough, and Marcus Butts; aunts, Joanne Wright (Freddie), Juanita Walton (Willie Tim), Dorothy King (Willie), Viola Gillis, Shirley Greenlee (Larry), and Carolyn Butts; cousins, Tara Jean Pickens (Keown), Alvet Taylor, Patina Davis (Joe), Tiffany and Alfenda Kimbrough, Brittany and Avonte McCant, Denise Dundas, Patricia James (Joan), Amanda Scott (Joe), Adeesha Hailey (James), Shani Young, Shakir Hannah, Keisha Johnson, Lessie and Regina Greenlee, AC Taylor, Senica Bryant (Nikki), AlMonz Kimbrough (Tia Maria), Alecstir, Antron, and Brandon McCant, Commondry Darthard, Apostle Levon Darthard (Leila), Freddie Wright II (Sheila), Terrell Dixon, Nimi, Barkari, and Dorian Hannah, Michael, Kevin and Melvin Wright, and Jason Greenlee; great-aunt, Lois Holmes; special friends, Damion Evans, Marie Cooper (producer friend), Darrien Evans, Otella Edwards, and Anthony (Tony) Jerman; family friends, Min.
