Obituary

Mrs. Naomi Doyle Jones was affectionately known for her funny spirit, thoughtful heart, compassionate nature, and deep faith. She was born on May 24, 1936, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Rev. John Doyle, Sr., and Dezell Doyle. Naomi received her early education locally and graduated from Middleton Senior High School. She later attended Gibbs Junior College, continuing her lifelong pursuit of growth, service, and excellence.

Naomi was united in marriage to the late Elvin (Billy) Wesley Jones, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She worked diligently for many years at CIGNA Property and Casualty Insurance Company, where she was respected for her professionalism and warm demeanor.

Even in her senior years, Naomi remained active and played a significant role in the upbringing of all five of her cherished grandchildren, a legacy they will carry forever. A devoted servant of God, Naomi was deeply involved in her church community. Her labor of love extended through several ministries, including the Usher Board, Sabbath School Department, Adventist Youth Society, Community Service, Adventurers Club, youth and adult choirs, Vacation Bible School, Hostess Committee, Church Beautification Committee, and both Church and School Boards. She was also a long-standing and beloved member of the True 'N Heart Club. Her dedication to service touched countless lives, always carried out with grace, intention, and a loving smile. Naomi had a gentle love for gardening, sewing, and singing, activities that brought her great joy and comfort throughout her life. Her nurturing spirit blossomed through these passions, just as it did through every relationship she cultivated.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Rev. John Doyle, Sr. and Dezell Doyle; beloved husband, Elvin (Billy) Wesley Jones; grandson, Jairus Jones; brothers, Barna Doyle, Jarius Doyle, Titus Doyle, and Justus Doyle; sisters, Etheline Jackson, Joanna Hunter, Ruth Brantley, Priscilla Watson, and Barbara Franklin.

Naomi leaves to cherish her memories to her loving children, son, Mark Americus Jones; daughter, Constance (Connie) Marcell Jones; grandchildren, De'ja Marcell Anderson, Demetrius Marcellius (M.J.) Bundick, Jaden (J.J.) Nishelle Jones, and Mark (A.J.) Americus Jones, Jr.; brother, John Doyle, Jr. (Marlene) of Tacoma, Washington; special nieces, Zelda Holmes and Zenda Browne, a host of other nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, and many dear extended family members and friends, including: Chris E. Jones, Elvin Wesley (Billy Boy) Jones, Phillip Hunter, Ray C. Jackson, Patricia Doyle; goddaughters, Theodora Young, Teresa Young, Brian Parris, and Karlene Williams, as well as cherished extended family; the Reddick, Small, Greco, and Dato families. Mrs. Naomi Doyle Jones will be remembered as a woman of unwavering faith, remarkable kindness, and uplifting humor. Her life was a living testimony of service, love, and devotion to God and family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she touched.
