Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Deacon Napolean Hester, Sr., of Tampa, Florida who passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, will be held Saturday, March 12th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Dr. S. Evan Burrows, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Napolean Hester was born on November 9, 1932 in Leon County, Florida. He was educated in Leon and Hillsborough County School Systems. He graduated from Middleton Senior High School, class of 1953. Napolean attended the school of Linotype in Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated as linotype operator. He was employed by, The News Reporter Printing Company, ABC Printing Company and Dupree Press Printing Company. Deacon Hester accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He dedicated his life to serving as a deacon for years at Greater New Salem P.B. Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board for several years. Deacon Hester was well known throughout the community and church affiliations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Hester; brothers, Leroy, Thaddeus, Peter and Diamond Hester; sisters, Annie Mae Pinkney, Maggie Sims, Mary Lee Alfred and Susie Burney, and daughter, Gail Marshall. He leaves to cherish his fond memories a devoted wife, Mozelle Hester; children, Rev. Ricardo Hester (Debra), Sharon Hester-Daniels (Christopher) and Napolean Hester, Jr., (friend, Dietra); grandchildren, Ricardo Hester II (Vashundra), Recia Henry (Josh), Sharinita Hester and Martin Daniels; great grandchildren, Miracle Fann, Cedric Hester, Cora Henry, McKenzie Hester, Aaliyah Henry, Anethia Hester and Josh Henry, Jr.; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Friday March 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the homegoing celebration.
