Homegoing services for Mr. Nathaniel Jackson, Jr. "Nay" of 5213 E. Columbus Dr., who departed this life on Sunday, October 25, 2009, at a local hospital, will be held Saturday, October 31st, 2;00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. M. L. King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Alton Butler, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Nathaniel was a native of Tampa and a life long resident. He was born May 5, 1951 to the late Nathaniel Jackson, Sr. and Juanita Jackson-White. He attended Hillsborough County Schools. He was a motivational speaker and active member of N.A. Nathaniel loved to play chess, cook, read and basketball. He also enjoyed his employment as a Chef at Morrison and Picadilly Cafeterias. He had the greatest since of humor, that will make you laugh. He accepted Christ at an early age and was full of life and love for his fellowman. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Frederick White, his first born daughter, Dionne Triniece Jackson and his brother, Terry Jackson. He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife, Ivery Jackson; 2 daughters, Chaquella Jackson and Mahalia Jackson; 1 son, Kendon Davis Jackson; 3 sisters, Gwelda Jackson, Karen Peterson and husband, Derace, and Nathalee Monts and husband, Zethro, Sr., 4 brothers, Michael Jackson and wife, Betty, Herbert Jackson, Sr. and wife, Phyllis, Alvin Jackson, Sr., and Ronald Jackson and wife, Lisa; 4 grandchildren, Zambria Jackson, Brandon, Chuckqae and Jasir Thomas; nieces, Nicole, Talisha, Dionne, Lyshunda, Dawn, Monique, Tawanda, Rhonda, Ebony, Tarsheta and Sharnita; nepehews, Alvin, Jr., Jerome, Herbert, Jr., Elliot, Elery, Tony, Zethro, Jr., De'Andre, Vermont, De'Nario, Adrian and Du'Ron; and a host of great nieces and nephews; aunts, Eunive Massey, Barbara Walker, Geraldine Gilchrist and husband, Jimmy and Thelma Green; uncles, Walter Beal and wife, Patricia and Willie Lee White and wife, Victoria; special friends who comforted him with daily words of inspiration, Brenda Blacmon and Dominick Mason; and special friend, Robert White for his weekly visits and catering to Nathaniel's request; and a host of cousins and other sorrowing family and friends who will greatly miss him. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
